September 2018 Release: Parent Accounts for eChalk and Notify

We’re pleased to announce important new features for eChalk and eChalk Notify! eChalk parent export codes, parent access for Notify, and new Notify tools for teachers and Super Users became available starting 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018.

Here’s what to look for with this release:

  • Export Parent Codes:Super Users and teachers can quickly export a list of parent codes for all of their students with paid accounts to make distribution to parents simple and easy. Parents have free access to their children's classes and groups with paid Lite or Full student subscriptions*.  
  • eChalk Notify for Parents: Parents with eChalk accounts will be able to log into the Notify app with their email address and password to get notifications from their children's classes and groups on their mobile device. Parents can get notifications for all of their children in one aggregated feed. The Notify app is available for free download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
  • See Class and Group Subscription Details in Notify: View class and group profile information within the Notify app. Teachers can use this area to keep class rules, useful links and resources that students and parents might find helpful.
  • View eChalk Notify Usage Stats: Now Super Users at a school or district can view the number of devices connected to eChalk Notify per school.

*Light accounts give students and parents access to members-only news feeds, calendars and resources for all of their classes, teams, clubs and school groups. Full accounts include class and group access along with learning management tools (online lessons, gradebook and assessments).
