Job Summary

The Web Producer is responsible for designing beautiful, organized websites for schools coming onto the eChalk CMS. Every school website that the Web Producer creates should tell the story of the school. It should be a user-friendly source of information for students, teachers, and parents. As the Web Producer gains experience, they will lead meetings with K-12 school administrators to understand their website goals and lead the onboarding process. The Web Producer will ultimately be responsible for creating positive working relationships with school leaders and guarantee satisfaction with the website and the onboarding experience.

Responsibilities

The Web Producer will:

  • Lead the design of new sites: participate in design conversation with client, make decisions regarding site theme, page layout, navigation, color, images and logo, and implement site using the eChalk CMS

  • Design graphics: hands-on design work using Illustrator and Photoshop. Can include logo touchup, light photo editing, and vectorized icon creation

  • Ensure sites are accessible: understand web accessibility and create content that meets WCAG 2.0 AA standards

  • Ensure timely project completion: Work with project lead to set timeline and update all project steps in project management system

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to build a website (CMS experience with Wix, Weebly, Wordpress, Squarespace or other is a plus)

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Design sense, understanding of web design

  • Illustrator and Photoshop skills

  • Understanding of web accessibility

  • Interest in education, K12 schools

  • Excellent writing
