A Solution Designed to Work the Way You Do

eChalk’s Online Learning Environment is not a repurposed university or corporate solution; it was designed expressly for K-12 schools. This makes our solution intuitive, effective, and easy-to-use, allowing teachers to save time and effort and be more productive. 

Almost every K-12 superintendent, technology director, principal, and teacher knows of a technology initiative that didn't work for reasons some of them might have been able to predict: the technology was too difficult to use, required too much time to learn, was unintuitive, or too disruptive to teachers' existing work practices. If technology isn't helpful, no one will use it, and if no one will use it, the district derives no benefit.

eChalk avoided these problems by designing the Online Learning Environment to work the way your teachers do. The proof that eChalk works is in the numbers: many eChalk schools report voluntary teacher adoption rates of more than 90 percent, increases in student-to-teacher emails of more than 2000 percent, and Web site traffic that grows every school year.

  • Archive
    eChalk saves teachers time by allowing them to save forms, lesson plans, resources, and other materials to reuse from year to year. When teachers save a great assignment for the archive, they can reassign it again the following year with one click. What’s more, when teachers move within the district, it’s easy to transfer their archives so that they don’t lose any work.
  • Homework Drop Box
    Students can submit homework and teachers can collect and manage assignments electronically. Students receive confirmation numbers to prove they have submitted an assignment and teachers eliminate the hassle of papers and printers and easily organize multiple homework assignments by class and/or section.
  • Lesson Planner
    Our lesson planning capability simplifies the plan submission and review process for curriculum and instruction leaders, principals, and especially teachers, saving them considerable time and effort. We offer easy-to-use, customized plan templates and provide the ability for teachers to collaborate on lesson plans, share them, and save and reuse them from year to year. Teachers can also organized plans into units for maximum efficiency, and shift them easily from day to day in case of schedule changes.
  • Teacher mentoring tools
    By empowering teachers to share syllabi, lessons, and other resources and learn from each other, eChalk supports mentoring programs, a proven technique for training and retaining skilled teachers. Mentors can be included in a class as a participant or a co-teacher, giving them the unique ability to view and comment on younger teachers’ classroom preparation and instruction.
