eChalk is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Statement pertains only to the information that eChalk collects or that is provided to us by your organization. Your organization may have its own policies addressing collection, use and sharing of personally identifiable information. This Privacy Statement applies only to SaaS service and not our Enterprise offering. Users of our Enterprise offering should contact your organization’s Primary Contact to learn if this Privacy Statement applies to you.
Privacy Policy
eChalk is committed to the privacy and security of our participating users. Supplementing the various measures that each client takes to protect its own computing and user environment, eChalk guards the privacy and the security of your information.
Use of Information
In an effort to provide the best quality services, eChalk may aggregate data obtained in order to evaluate the use of the system and to obtain and understand statistical and other generalized information about its users and how to improve the features and functions of eChalk systems. The information obtained by eChalk will not be given, sold, rented, loaned, disclosed to or shared with any third party except when consent has been provided or when it may be necessary for eChalk to comply with applicable law as described below.
eChalk does not use third parties to provide its services. Should eChalk determine that this is beneficial for users, eChalk may undertake to do so and such services may include customer support, various analytics of system usage. At all times, such third parties will be required to maintain the confidentiality of the information with which they may come in contact and be prohibited from using the information for any other purpose than the purpose which is described above. Participating clients using the eChalk system may elect to provide various services for any of their users. Such clients are solely responsible for the administration of such services for their users, as well as for the control, use and access of personal information.
Privacy
eChalk does not market any user information to any third party. Each participating client supplies eChalk with basic information and retains administrative capabilities and sole responsibility so that the system is effectively monitored and maintained by the client, as needed for the system to operate. Each customer site retains full ownership of all information stored and shared on the eChalk system.
eChalk restricts its ability to monitor usage by user type and activity, and shares this information solely with client’s administration upon request.
eChalk is obligated to disclose personally identifying information only in response to valid legal processes, i.e., a search warrant, subpoena or court order, or as necessary and be appropriate to protect the safety of a child during emergencies if physical safety is believed to be at risk.
Security
As administered by the client, each individual user account has a discrete user name to protect the identity of the user and all access is password-protected to prevent unauthorized access. In this way, only authorized members of your organization are allowed to access or view any user information submitted as part of the eChalk system that is relevant to the account.
As directed by the client, eChalk may employ individual password-protected accounts and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology to ensure the privacy of any information in a user's account.
eChalk's servers are housed in a data center with 24-hour, 365-day/year access and staffed to provide effective protection of all data as well as for maximum uptime and system protection.
eChalk reviews its technology safeguards and measures on a periodic basis and strives to use industry-leading encryption technology to ensure the privacy of any user's online information.
Compliance with Law
eChalk recognizes the importance of maintaining the highest standards of privacy protection and complies with current laws and regulations governing privacy protection for students and schools. eChalk does not market to children under 13 years of age and does not employ games, contests, or other measures to collect personal information from children. No information obtained will be shared with third parties. In addition, eChalk will continue to revise its policies in this area to maintain its legal compliance and use its reasonable efforts to institute “best practices” as they become available.
