Getting It All to Work Together

eChalk’s Online Learning Environment easily integrates with your current student information systems and applications, extending the value of your existing investments and making the technology easier to use and more productive for administrators, teachers, students, and parents.

Our Client Services experts will work with you to understand your needs and objectives and map out a customized, highly effective integration strategy to implement and adopt eChalk in your district, including:

• Student Information System (SIS)
  The Online Learning Environment integrates with all major SIS applications, including PowerSchool, Chancery, SASI, and Pentamation, and is compliant with Schools Interoperability Framework (SIF) standards. eChalk receives information from your SIS system to create and update eChalk user account information. Our solution is dynamic, so that all pages impacted by information from your SIS (for example, contact information, grade level information, student enrollment information) are updated automatically. Data updates are made programmatically on a periodic basis, so that once communication is set up between your SIS and eChalk, data is synchronized without manual labor. eChalk Client Services will work closely with you during the implementation process to ensure the data transfer process is successful.
• Email
  eChalk’s email system is highly flexible. If you choose to switch all users completely to the eChalk email platform, we will work with you to ensure a smooth transition—maintaining the same email addresses, continuing with the same email clients (Outlook, Eudora, or others). Some districts opt to maintain their existing Exchange, Novell, or other server for district administrators. In this case, our email system can automatically forward all email sent to a user at eChalk to their Novell or Exchange account, eliminating the need to check two inboxes.
• Existing Web sites
  We can work with you to maintain any individual Web sites that you’d like to preserve and integrate them with the Online Learning Environment.
• Third-Party Applications
  eChalk can integrate with—and even host—your district’s existing subscription services, such as netTrekker, enabling users to sign in once to the Online Learning Environment and gain access to these applications.
