Safe Email, Blogs and File Storage

With eChalk’s Online Learning Environment, students, teachers, and administrators all have access to a secure email system and extensive file storage capability, allowing them to communicate and collaborate easily and effectively.

Enterprise email – Faculty and staff get access to an enterprise-level email system with:

• A full set of features, including return receipt, signatures, spell check, address book, auto reply, etc.
• Personal filtering tools
• The ability to create group email distribution lists for easy and effective communication

Student-safe email – Administrators can establish a custom email policy to protect students from receiving unsolicited mail from unknown senders, block inappropriate language and files, and monitor communication, including:

• Domain blocking
  Ensure that students can only send/receive emails from other school users or even smaller groups of school users (e.g. non-students only)
• Blacklisting
  Block certain domains from sending email to students
• Account monitoring
  Allow teachers or other adults to monitor student accounts
• Filters for bad words, attachments, and spam
  Block objectionable content and junk email
• Report misuse button
  Students can easily report misuse to the Site Administrator with one click

Personal digital lockers – Students and faculty are provided with personal storage space for work in progress. They can work on electronic documents at school, save them to their eChalk account, and easily access their work from home.

Shared file space for faculty and staff – Administrators and teachers can securely access curriculum, administrative forms, and other key resources from school or home.
