Student Access to Teachers and Tech: Carol Taylor, Greene County Middle School
Carol Taylor is “getting people to be 21st century learners transitioning into the age of technology.” She is the Instructional Technologist at Greene County Middle School in North Carolina. In this clip Carol talks about how students can easily gain access to teachers and resources via educational technology. Her job is to integrate technology into both lesson plans and the school’s communication. In this role she is able to see how parents are kept in the loop with electronic communications, one of her favorite benefits. In her district, as in most, students are not the most reliable transmitters of information home. However, Greene County has found a way around this, so much so that parent/teacher emails are one of the most common forms of communication.
