Provider of Web-based Communication Networks for K-12 Schools Forms Superintendents Advisory Board

New York, NY (May 23, 2001) - eChalk, the leading Web-based communication service provider for K-12 public, private, and parochial schools and school districts, is pleased to announce the creation of its Superintendents Advisory Board.

This Board represents the next step in eChalk's ongoing mission to help schools acquire affordable online communication systems specifically designed for K-12 users. Members of the eChalk Superintendents Advisory Board will play a critical role in assessing the changing nature of schools' communication needs and helping eChalk refine its product to address the specific requirements of K-12 schools and districts.

The Board is composed of superintendents from across the country, and represents a diversity of school districts by size and geographic location. Dr. John B. Peper, former Superintendent, Jefferson County Public Schools in Colorado, will chair the committee. Member superintendents include Dr. Stephen W. Daeschner of the Jefferson County Public School District in Kentucky; Dr. Karen A. Forys of the Northshore School District in Washington state; Dr. Hal D. Guthrie of the Spring Branch Independent School District in Texas; Dr. Jane Hammond of Jefferson County Public Schools in Colorado; Dr. Mary R. Leiker of Kentwood Public Schools in Michigan; Dr. Doug Magann, former Superintendent of Georgetown County Schools in South Carolina; Dr. James R. Rickabaugh of Whitefish Bay Schools in Wisconsin; and Dr. Robert D. Tschirki of the Cherry Creek School District in Colorado.

"eChalk continues to enhance its reputation as a quality company that's here for the long run," said Dr. Peper, "and the stellar quality of the superintendents it has attracted to its Board is a testament to that. Their combined experience - including both challenges and successes - will provide eChalk even greater insight into the real needs of K-12 schools and districts."

"It's a true honor to work with this team of quality educators," said Torrance W. Robinson, president and co-founder of eChalk. "The breadth and depth of their knowledge and accomplishment will provide us with the strongest foundation possible to continue to help our schools communicate affordably and effectively."
