Mission Statement

Thinking Beyond the Building

There is power in numbers. And we're not just talking about test scores. Whether a few or a few million, every school community has students, teachers, parents and school leaders who want to make a difference. But, in order to do that, they all need to be on the same page. Ten years ago, we realized that in the future, "chalk" wasn't going to be the primary way people involved in K-12 education would communicate. So we developed "What Schools Want from the Internet," harnessing the power of the web to connect all of the stakeholders involved in learning so that students (and learning) could be more successful.

Connecting the Dots

But as it would turn out, there wasn't any easy way to connect the dots. That's where we came in. The concept seemed simple to us, but collaborative communication systems like eChalk, while commonplace in business, just seemed foreign to K-12 school systems. Yet, the need and demand were there—and have only grown exponentially over the last decade as people and groups of people become more and more interconnected.

It's About People and Learning

We're an educational technology company. Whether you think we're a really cool website company, a social networking pioneer or a learning management system, we're ultimately here to help people. And we aim to positively impact learning by connecting all of the people in K-12 school systems to the people and information they need to be successful.

The stories we hear from the students, parents, teachers and school leaders we serve reaffirm our commitment to developing instructionally relevant communication and collaboration tools that leverage the power of the web to help schools improve, help students reach their potential, help teachers stay supported and enthusiastic mentors, help parents become advocates and partners and help communities beam with pride.
