Why did you choose to work in education?

I've always believed the success of our future economy is tied to our ability to thrive academically in the areas of Math, Science and Engineering. This begins in our K-12 schools and is one of the reasons I like working in the K-12 market. eChalk is a great platform to create a connected community and to get our teachers, students and parents excited about learning again.

What drew you to eChalk?

From the first time I met the people at eChalk I knew I wanted to be part of the company and where it was going.  

Describe the eChalk culture. 

I have worked in small companies and very large companies and eChalk’s culture is like a small family business. Everyone is passionate about the company, our customers and our product. Whether you’re an employee or customer, there’s a sense of pride associated with eChalk and its culture.

What do you like most about working at eChalk?

Working with passionate people who love what they do. Having two kids in the school system, I appreciate the commitment teachers and staff have towards the kids. It’s rewarding being able to contribute where I can in the K-12 market.

How would you describe eChalk customers?

eChalk customers are passionate about their work, the kids and our products! I’ve never seen people so willing to be advocates of a product or company as our customers are about eChalk. 

Describe your fellow eChalkers.

There is a very caring family environment at eChalk where everyone wants everyone else to exceed. No matter what your job description is, everyone is willing to help. It’s an interesting environment; one that I hope never changes as we continue to grow and add staff. 

Is there one moment that stands out during the time you’ve worked at eChalk? 

I was on the job for two days when I participated at NECC 2009 in Washington, DC. I was overwhelmed at how our customers participated in our booth interacting with prospects and conference attendees, telling their eChalk stories. They were so passionate about eChalk and how it had an impact on their schools.

What excites you about the future of eChalk?

Seeing our goals for growth and increased market share happen! We have an opportunity to be part of the technology foundation by which students can create a better life for themselves. Not a lot of people can say that!
