Manager of Network Operations

Why did you choose to work in education?

I was, and still am, attracted by the opportunity to use new web-based technologies to help students and schools achieve their goals.

Describe the eChalk culture.

In the past, I’ve worked for large magazine publishers. The main difference between the work here and there is that people at eChalk are extremely committed to making a quality product that makes a difference for young people.

What’s most satisfying about working at eChalk?

eChalk has made an investment in the right technology to create a high performance web platform and I greatly enjoy the opportunity to design and work on it.

Describe your fellow eChalkers.

The best word to describe them would be “dedicated.”

Is there one event that stands out during the time you’ve worked at eChalk?

Migrating from one physical data center to another took a large orchestrated team effort and came off without a hitch. That was a massive undertaking that went off very smoothly.

What surprised you most about working at eChalk?

I think the most surprising thing was the dedication of all the employees. As an IT professional, we’re used to working long hours and off hours, but from top to bottom, the long hours and dedication are pervasive throughout the organization

Tell us what you look forward to most at eChalk.

I look forward to the new release that will allow for much greater customization of our school’s sites. The new look and feel will bring a very advanced cutting edge look and feel to schools that might otherwise not be able to produce such slick looking sites.
