John Aiello

Vice President, Finance

John is responsible for managing eChalk’s finances and human resources. With more than 10 years of handling finances for both start-ups and public companies, John has extensive experience in developing and implementing accounting systems, policies, practices and procedures. Prior to joining eChalk in 2005, John was the Chief Financial Officer of Chelsea Pharmaceutical Resources.

John is a graduate of the Stern School of Business at New York University.

What drew you to eChalk?

I was excited by the opportunity to work with a company whose focus was to improve education in America. The group of people I initially met at eChalk was so dedicated to the company mission that I was drawn right in.

How does it feel to be surrounded by technology people and educators?

It’s invigorating to work with this team which is so deeply driven to find ways to improve education through technology.

Describe the eChalk culture. 

The fabric of the company is all about driving towards success. We believe our success translates into successful customers and thereby successful students and teachers.

What do you like best about working at eChalk?

Although my contribution is indirect, I am helping students become more inspired to learn and teachers manage their work better.

What satisfies you most about working at eChalk?

My colleagues and how we all believe that every sale can help students learn.

eChalkers are dedicated and driven to succeed. Simply put, everyone believes in the vision of the company.

Is there one event that stands out during the time you’ve worked at eChalk? 

It was the announcement of the development of the Lesson Planner module by the development team. It was verification for me of the mission of this company, of improving and enhancing education.

Tell us what you look forward to most at eChalk. 

Knowing that the market in which we sell is still so young. Many schools are just beginning to learn about the benefits an eChalk educational solution can bring.
