Why did you choose to work in education?

I have worked in education for a while; first as a teacher in NYC Public Schools, then at Teach For America. I think that reforming education is one of our most critical national issues and I’m passionate about how we can use business principles and better management to benefit children.

Describe the eChalk culture.

eChalk culture has a blend of entrepreneurial energy and nonprofit-like passion for education.

What do you like best about working at eChalk?

The people. They’re fun, intelligent, energetic, passionate and dedicated! I have huge respect for my colleagues and clients and consider many of them family. You can always count on eChalkers to go above and beyond.

What satisfies you most about working at eChalk?

Seeing how eChalk can make a difference in the education of students in the schools we work with. Today’s students get all of their information online and the more that educators leverage that media, the better off students will be. And spending time with our clients is deeply satisfying.

Tell us what you look forward to at eChalk.

More growth...I’m excited by the opportunity to provide solutions through a variety of channels (ESA, other education service organizations) that can help us grow. I’m also excited by the new product features under development.

Is there anything you miss about being in front of a classroom?

Miss about the classroom??? Kids, of course! Their candor and conversation always made the day interesting and rewarding.

“eChalk helps me to be more creative as a teacher and allows me to help students to be responsible for their own education. eChalk empowers students by allowing them to be responsible for their own education by providing them with information and access to resources that sets them up to be successful.”
