What drew you to eChalk?

After working for big companies in the finance sector, I wanted to work in an industry where making money was not the main priority. I also wanted to start to build systems and software from the ground up and eChalk gave me that opportunity. Plus, both of my parents were teachers and on my mother’s side there have been three generations of educators.

Describe the eChalk culture.

eChalk has a great family feel and many of us are passionate about education and making a positive impact. The company also lets people wear many hats and learn a variety of interesting things.

What satisfies you most about working at eChalk?

When I read emails or make visits to user sites and hear from parents, teachers, students and administrators how eChalk has helped them meet their goals. I visited eChalk schools in Texas where deployment was deep and their usage was very high. To see the systems used in such an integrated way with everyday school life was absolutely awesome.

Describe your fellow eChalkers.

Smart, fun, responsible, hardworking and passionate.

What excites you about the future of eChalk?

I really look forward to the innovations eChalk will bring in education. With our knowledge of education and technology we are in a great position to invent a breakthrough that can really help change education.

“The online classrooms provide an easy way for teachers to post lesson plans, homework assignments and class information. The format is so easy—our teachers love it!”
