New Millennium Secondary School (NMSS) chose eChalk because it provides students with many of the technology tools they’ll encounter in college and beyond.

Getting Ahead, Beyond the Classroom Walls

“Online communication and teacher office hours are what kids will encounter in college,” said Tony Kline, NMSS Executive Director. “We wanted to provide that in high school to give them a head start.” Kline was convinced eChalk was the right platform when he found the teaching, learning and website tools, and email accounts were all interconnected. “Other companies do school websites, but the key they leave out is email,” according to Kline. “No one even comes close to doing everything tied together as well as eChalk does.”

Kline’s central focus is getting students ready for the nuts and bolts of college and eChalk gives New Millennium students the same tools they’ll use in college:

  • Teacher websites
  • Resource libraries
  • Homework dropboxes and more

Helping Parents Too

Kline’s faith in parents has undergone a reaffirmation—a change he credits to eChalk and the increased transparency it provides. New Millennium closely monitors eChalk usage and considers communication problems virtually non-existent. Take a look at some of the school’s impressive usage statistics:

  • 84% of NMSS parents check grades online regularly
  • 88% of students have home access to eChalk
  • 100% of teachers are active and using class pages

eChalk’s Real Value: It’s Easy to Use and Affordable

Kline credits eChalk’s ease of use as its biggest benefit. “People would be surprised at how easy eChalk is to administer and maintain,” Kline said. “That’s something we really value and it’s important because it lowers the total cost.”

How does Kline sum up his eChalk experience? “At the end of the day, for the dollars spent, the value is incredible.”
