Martin Brutosky
Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer
Martin joined eChalk as CEO in Summer 2008, bringing over 30 years of experience in the education technology space, software and software services. Prior to eChalk, Martin led TetraData Corporation as Chairman, CEO and COO from its launch into K-12 education through its growth into more than 34 states and 4,000 schools nationwide as well as its transition to becoming a subsidiary of Follett Software Company. Previously, he served as Executive Vice President and CIO for Umbro International, where he led strategic planning for global operations that included four continents and 15 key countries; President of Technology Marketing Associates, where he directed three new business launches and President of Alltel Information Services’ Cellular Division. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Penn State University with a B.S. in Mathematics, holds a Master of Divinity degree from The Theological Seminary of the Reformed Episcopal Church and has completed the Executive Management Program in Marketing, Economics and Organizational Behavior Studies from Enseas Business School and the University of Edinburgh.
John Aiello
Vice President, Finance
John is responsible for managing eChalk’s finances and human resources. With more than 10 years of handling finances for both start-ups and public companies, John has extensive experience in developing and implementing accounting systems, policies, practices, and procedures. Prior to joining eChalk in 2005, John was the Chief Financial Officer of Chelsea Pharmaceutical Resources. He received a B.S. in Accounting from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
Joseph Costanzo
Senior Vice President, Sales
Joe brings over 20 years of experience as a proven sales executive, leader, and mentor to his role as Senior Vice President of Sales for eChalk. Most recently as Senior Vice President of Sales for TetraData, a K-12 education technology company, Joe and his team increased performance over 242%. Prior to TetraData, Joe was Vice President of Sales for 4GL School Solutions, where he more than doubled contract bookings; Vice President of Sales for Eduprise, where he grew contract bookings from $0 to over $11 million; Co-founder and President of Spire; General Manager of IMTECH; and Executive Vice President and General Manager of Prentice Hall Professional Software, where he and his team increased software licenses by over 22%. Joe holds a MBA from the University of Notre Dame and a BA from Colgate University.
Alberto Garcia
Chief Technology Officer
Alberto is responsible for managing the company's technology, applications, operations, and business systems. With eChalk since 1999, Alberto developed the company's Online Learning Environment and Lesson Planner service. He has more than 15 years of experience in business process reengineering, programming, networking, and systems operations. Alberto holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Drexel University.
José Garcia
Vice President, Technology
José brings more than 20 years of experience in software and application development to eChalk, where he is responsible for the company’s technology infrastructure. Prior to joining eChalk in 1999, José worked for Dun & Bradstreet, Citibank, and Merrill Lynch. He received a B.A. in Computer Science from Haverford College and an M.S. in Computer Science from New York University.
Randy Hall
Director, Professional Learning
Randy oversees all of eChalk’s Professional Learning programs and services. Prior to joining eChalk, Randy was the Associate Director of Education at Carnegie Hall, where he managed nationally recognized educational programs for schools and teachers. Randy previously taught music in the Fairfax County public school system and produced educational Web sites for many organizations, including Carnegie Hall and Thirteen/WNET New York. Randy received a B.A. in Music Education degree from George Mason University and a Master of Music degree from the University of Maryland-College Park.
Paul Kuhne
Director, Marketing
Paul currently heads up eChalk’s marketing efforts. He previously served as Vice President, Subscriber Relations and Vice President, Marketing, Communications and Customer Experience at BrainPOP. He has built successful sales organizations, marketing programs and customer/client service operations in ed tech and beyond, leading to 30-125% revenue growth. Prior to BrainPOP, Paul directed institutional marketing for Tutor.com and handled marketing, communications and relationship management programs for educational nonprofits, online services and academia, including the Institute of International Education. He has a passion for innovative educational technology and methods, giving people the tools they need to succeed and sharing their stories. Paul received his A.B. in English/Theatre from Colgate University.
Charlene Noll
Vice President, Product Development
With more than 20 years of product management and development experience, Charlene oversees all aspects of product design and development of the Online Learning Environment. Before joining eChalk in 2000, Charlene was the Vice President of Business and Product Development at a Thompson Corporation division and held similar positions at Reed Elsevier and Ziff Davis. Charlene received a B.S. in business administration from Boston University and an M.B.A. from Fordham University.
Jennifer Ozanne
Vice President, Client Services
Jennifer is responsible for managing district implementations of eChalk, which includes project management, technical integration guidance, on-site professional development, and promotion of use of the system by end users. Jennifer is also responsible for Web- and phone-based technical support programs. Prior to joining eChalk, Jennifer was the Deputy Vice President of Alumni Affairs for Teach for America and taught mathematics at the Washington Irving High School, where she helped to create the first International Baccalaureate program in the New York City public school system. Jennifer received a B.A. in mathematics and communications studies from Vanderbilt University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School.
Torrance Robinson
Co-Founder and President
Torrance brings to the company years of experience developing, marketing, and implementing Web-based businesses, as well as creating and implementing technology solutions in K-12 schools and districts. At Jumbo.com (now Jupiter Media) Torrance created and launched the education channel Homeworkcentral.com and the Business and Finance Channel. In 1997, he was recruited to help develop, launch, and market Bloomberg.com, where he worked for two years before co-founding eChalk in 1999. Torrance was the Founder and Chairman of the Board of NYConnects (1994-2000), a nonprofit organization that helped connect more than 100 New York schools to the Internet. He is a Term Member on the Council of Foreign Relations and a member of the Board of Directors of the Citizens Union. Torrance is a graduate of Haverford College.
